The Big Valley Beautification & Cultural Society had their plant swap on Tuesday May 12 at the train station. They had an excellent turnout with many varieties of perennial plant’s brought to exchange. There was tea, coffee and goodies inside the station. The turnout was excellent. Thanks for the donations, which will be used to purchase flowers for planter’s around the village.
I’ve been asked to put this article in my column. The Big Valley Golf Course’s raven has returned. He has been named Blackbeard. He likes to retrieve golf balls most of which he takes in the middle of someone’s golf game. He then takes them we guess to his stash which must be pretty big by now as he has been doing this for some time. This doesn’t go on for the full golf season he seems to stop after a period of time. For what reason we don’t know. We now have a golf course mascot.
Lori Gordon was brought a kitten yesterday that was seen thrown out of a moving vehicle, it was hurt pretty bad . Lori phoned the village office and Corrine took over some kitten food and litter. They really didn’t think it would eat but surprising enough it started eating and drinking and made itself quite at home in Lori’s Leather Shop. Lori has taken it home and it now has a loving home. They named it Ash (short for ash vault) It’s nice that we have people who step forward to help something that has been cruelly abused.
Best wishes from everybody in the coffee club to Arlyne Hingst.
