An­other warm week­end - we are well on the way to Spring. Fe­bru­ary brings longer days, warmer weather and Valen­tine’s Day. The Pan­cake Break­fast spon­sored by the Delia Elks and Royal Pur­ple will take place on the se­cond Sun­day in Fe­bru­ary – right on Valen­tine’s Day so take your Valen­tine out for break­fast !

Some other dates to re­mem­ber for Fe­bru­ary: Mon­day, Fe­bru­ary 8 – movie night at the Delia Drop In Cen­tre fea­tur­ing Celtic Thun­der at 7 p.m. Come lis­ten to a DVD of this great mu­si­cal group. Fe­bru­ary 10 – Birth­day Party at the Drop In Cen­tre ( Wed­nes­day) at 2 in the af­ter­noon, with Joan and Mar­i­lyn as hostesses. Come for fel­low­ship, fun, dessert and a chance to win a door prize. Fe­bru­ary 11 –Thurs­day morn­ing- An­nual meet­ing of the Drop In Cen­tre at 10 am, ev­ery­one wel­come, come and hear what the Drop In has ac­com­plished in 2015. Elec­tions will be held for ex­ec­u­tive po­si­tions. Fe­bru­ary 11 – An­nual meet­ing of the His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety, to be held at the Delia Drop In Cen­tre at 7 p.m. Fe­bru­ary 15 is Fam­ily Day in Al­berta – en­joy your day off school and work. Thurs­day Fe­bru­ary 18 – Pot Luck lunch at the Drop In Cen­tre at 12 noon. Ev­ery­one wel­come to join us for lunch and vis­it­ing. Thurs­day Fe­bru­ary 25 – the last Thurs­day of the month – Crib Tour­na­ment at the Drop In Cen­tre at 7 p.m., come for cards, fun, and lots of snacks.

Jazzer­cise takes place at the Delia School Gym on Mon­days and Wed­nes­day from 7 to 8 p.m., with in­struc­tor Kim Thomp­son, and at the Delia Com­mu­nity Cen­tre on Tues­days and Thurs­days at 9:00 a.m.

Valen­tine’s Day Crafts at noon on Fe­bru­ary 10 at Delia Li­brary Mak­erspace from 12:00 to 12:38.

The lo­cal preschool will be vis­it­ing the Li­brary at 1:45 on Fe­bru­ary 24 to en­joy sto­ries and ac­tiv­i­ties.

Free­dom to Read Week is Fe­bru­ary 21 to 27 at the Delia Li­brary. Free­dom to Read Week is an an­nual event that en­cour­ages Cana­di­ans to think about and reaf­firm their com­mit­ment to in­tel­lec­tual free­dom, a Free­dom to Read Trivia Con­test starts Mon­day, Fe­bru­ary 22, - stu­dents are en­cour­aged to sub­mit a piece of trivia around Free­dom to Read Week or Banned Books to Mrs. Alderdice each morn­ing for an­nounce­ments, their names will be en­tered into a draw for prizes.

The li­brary will be closed Fe­bru­ary 15 - 19 for Fam­ily Day and Teach­ers Con­ven­tion.
