Congratulations to Earl Penner of Swalwell, last week’s lucky winner of the 300 Club Raffle which took place on February 6. Congratulations Earl and thanks for buying a ticket.

Pretty quiet on the school news front this week. Everyone is looking forward to the break next week after Family Day.

This week is the Rumsey Ladies bonspiel February 10 – 13. Don’t forget oyster night is Thursday starting at 5:00. It’s a delicious supper with pie for dessert.

February is 4H Communications month, and the 4H Multi Club Public Speaking competition will take place on February 10 at the Morrin School. There will be Public Speaking and Presentations at all levels. Good luck 4Hers, I’m looking forward to listening to the speeches.

The Morrin Lions are holding their annual Valentine’s Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, February 14 from 9:00 am-noon. Entrance is by donation and donations will go to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. There will be flowers for the ladies and valentines for the kids to make. Bring out the entire family to support another community event by the Morrin Lions.

As I mentioned last week, February is Heart and Stroke month. Keep your heart healthy for the people you care about. My thought about Valentine’s Day is that it doesn’t have to be about buying something or spending money, you can give a bit of yourself by finally finishing a job that’s on the “to do” list to make your sweetie happy or by just spending some time with someone who is very special to you.

Have a great week.
