Greetings to all I hope you are enjoying the lovely weather which is supposed to continue for several more days...can spring be far behind?

Mike and Judy Borwick were recent visitors to Vancouver to visit with Matt and Jenna and took their granddaughter Sarah from Red Deer with them as this was her birthday present from grandpa and grandma. I’m sure all had a fun time and it’s something that Sarah will always remember. Special times are so important to kids.

The Les Bell family spent a few days in Saskatoon as Les was attending a type of forum called the Canadian International Grain Institute and deals with ways to move grain to market. I hope I have that right. While there they, of course, visited Nathan who is at university there.

Judy Borwick informed me that Holly is in Ayampe, Ecuador teaching English and brushing up on her Spanish. Holly loves to go to different places in the world to learn how others live and to help them in their own way. I refer to her as a “free-spirit” in the world.

This past weekend I and the Eremko’s, and Dennis and Stasha all went to the Casino on the Morley Reserve called Stoney Nakoda. It is a beautiful complex with very good food, lovely large hotel rooms and pleasing staff. It was a fun weekend even though the machines didn’t like me very much. That wasn’t really important to me as I went to have a good time and that’s what happened. The most snow was from here to basically Beisker. The mountains were in all their majesty on Sunday morning with brilliant sunshine. It’s too bad the Hollywood folks can’t understand that we can’t move those nasty mountains that bring us chinooks.

Mark your calendars for Friday, February 26 for cards, board games and visiting at the Centre starting at 7:00 p.m. If you like to munch take along some snacks.

If you watched the Super Bowl on Sunday I hope your team won but everyone can’t win as was evident with the disappointment on the faces of the Panthers. I was cheering the Broncos as I was hoping Payton Manning would leave the game as a champion again. Odds are that this was his last professional game.

Have a good Valentine’s Day and it is also Family Day Weekend. Maybe you will get to sleep in Monday morning! Have a good one.
