The Verdant Valley and Dorcas Women’s Institute met on Wednesday for a Valentine supper at O Shea’s Restaurant with twelve members and spouses present with a total attendance of 21. A report was given about the Constituency Conference which will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 1 - 2. The place is yet to be determined. The group enjoyed a Valentine treat exchange. Next meeting will be held at the home of Holly Guterson on Wednesday, March 9.

Ron, Leslie and I returned on Friday from our winter holiday spending the week in Canmore. We visited the Nordic Center, Banff and Lake Louise. The weather was perfect and it is so nice to see the deep caps of snow on roofs and posts in the Lake Louise area. We also saw five dog sleigh teams taking off down Highway 1A near Lake Louise.

Happy birthday this week to Grayden and Morgan Ewing and Gage Poland on February 18, Tannis James on February 23, Malcolm Hunt on February 25, Eunice Wilson on February 26 and on February 28 to Lionel Duncalf, Jason James and Matthew Kuvaja.

We have one wedding anniversary in February – Roberta (Ewing) and Malcolm Hunt on February 27. They have moved back to our community and we welcome them.

Hope your Valentine’s Day was happy and full of love. This is Leap Year so we have a February 29 this year.
