Pioneer Trail

The Drumheller Mail - - SPORTS - Annette Green

As well as the regular activities at the centre there are other seniors events on at other venues, the Toonie walk is now held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30 - 11:00 am at the Badlands Community Centre and floor shuffleboard is held there on Fridays from 10:00 - 12:00. Come along and try it out.

The Valentines Box Social was held on Saturday and there were some very nicely decorated boxes. Thank you to everyone who provided a box and to those who purchased one, it all helped for the group.

On Friday a group went to Calgary to hear a rehearsal of the Philharmonic Orchestra with a guest pianist and what a wonderful experience it was. We finished the morning off with a good lunch and then travelled home. We left home in fog and found it was snowing in Calgary when we arrived but fog was clearing when we came back to Drumheller. I think I can safely say “A good time was had by all”.

A bowling tournament was held at Sandstone Lanes on Valentine’s Day and 8 of our group took part. I am pleased to report 4 took home prizes. Thank you to Sandstone Lanes for donating the prizes.

The general meeting for members will be February 23 at 2:00 pm, please try to attend and let the executive know what events you like. The Crib tournament is Saturday, February 20. Please add your name as soon as possible.

A Celebration of Life is being held at the Pioneer Trail for ‘ SPUD’ Hromada on Saturday, March 5 at 1:00 pm. Eileen and family would like to invite anyone who knew Spud to attend.
