DVSS Dynos dominate Three Hills
On Thursday, February 11, the DVSS Dynos Junior A girls basketball team hosted a game against Three Hills School. At the half way mark, the Dynos were ahead 18-11 and kept the lead with a final score of 29-20.
Coach Elesha Wright told The Mail, “It was a good game overall, both teams played well. I was happy to see how my girls were able to move the ball around and they started to penetrate the key more, allowing us to utilize our post players and score points inside.”
Wright expressed, “It was exciting to see the girls start shooting from the outside and we had 3 successful 3-point shots from # 12 Emilya Wright which really helped keep the point spread for us to win the game. We have just started this new motion offense and the girls are running it well and is proving to be successful so far. As well in our defense, we adjusted to more of a loose man to man / zone as we are short on leg power and the girls are executing this very successfully as well.”
According to Coach Wright, DVSS Dynos Junior A girls have had a few injuries this season resulting in a shallow bench at times but the girls have pulled together and continued to battle hard resulting in a few wins put to our name this season so far.
“Each game I see improvement sometimes as a team, other times individually and as a coach that is exciting to see and reminds me of why I enjoy coaching so
much.” said Wright.
On Thursday, February 25, the last league game will be at home against Three Hills Prairie Christian Academy.
