This re­minder: nom­i­na­tions close on Fri­day, March 18 for this year’s Cel­e­bra­tion of Ex­cel­lence. Then, on April 9, awards will be pre­sented to our Ci­ti­zen of the Year – Most Cour­te­ous Em­ployee – male and fe­male ath­letes of the year and the Town of Drumheller youth awards. Nom­i­na­tions forms are avail­able on­line at the Ro­tary web­site, SJ Fash­ions and Cen­tre Street In­sur­ance. The Cel­e­bra­tion of Ex­cel­lence is pre­sented by Canalta and Ro­tary

John Shan­non be­comes the new club pres­i­dent July 1. Wendy Ben­zon takes over as vice-pres­i­dent, Sylvia Adams be­comes trea­surer and Ian Cas­sels is Pres­i­dent-elect, as­sum­ing the role of pres­i­dent in mid-2017.

Among the num­ber of re­cent fi­nan­cial con­tri­bu­tions in sup­port of lo­cal projects, the club has di­rected funds to the Drumheller Mu­sic Fes­ti­val As­so­ci­a­tion and the up­com­ing pro­vin­cial Ban­tam hockey com­pe­ti­tion.

En­quiries are com­ing in as many look for­ward to the White Ele­phant sale. May 6 and 7. Chair Gra­ham Giffen would like all donors to hold onto the items un­til the week prior to the event. If you are un­able to de­liver th­ese items to the Green­tree Mall at that time, just give mem­bers a call for pick-up.
