Hussar 4H Public Speaking
On February 24, the Hussar 4H Club held their Public Speaking Competition at Hussar School. In all, 16 junior and 11 intermediate members presented a prepared and an impromptu speech.
The emcee for the Junior category speeches was Brooke Fandry, and the emcee for the intermediates was Addison Muller. The judges for the Junior speakers were: Jeneen Armstrong, Della Armstrong, Erica Thew, Betty MacDonald, Rhonda Treacy, and Linda Holt. The judges for the Intermediate speakers were: Blake Balog, Chelsea Neilsen, Mikayla Waters, Louise Ritchie, Sid Holt, and Jen Schmidt. The Club would like to extend a big thank you to all of the judges who took time out of their busy lives to join us!
In the Junior level, Jason Slemko won 1st, Kylie Bishop won 2nd, and the alternate was Grace Gregory. At the Intermediate level, Erin Slemko won 1st, Koal Sammons won 2nd, and the alternate was Katie Taubert.
Thank you to all the volunteers, judges, emcees, leaders and everybody else that helped. Thank you also to everybody who came to watch, and all of the parents for the delicious potluck supper.
Good Luck to Erin, Katie, Jason and Kylie who will be advancing to compete at District Public Speaking in Strathmore on March 12.
