Town names man­ager of Recre­ation, Arts and Cul­ture

The Town of Drumheller is pleased to an­nounce the re­cent hir­ing of Dar­ren Goldthorpe as Man­ager of Recre­ation, Arts and Cul­ture.

Mr. Gold-thorpe brings with him over 17 years ex­pe­ri­ence within mu­nic­i­pal recre­ation ser­vice and has an ex­ten­sive back­ground in the op­er­a­tions and pro­gram­ming of fa­cil­i­ties in­clud­ing field­houses, are­nas and aquat­ics pro­gram­ming. He also brings sig­nif­i­cant emer­gency man­age­ment ex­pe­ri­ence to the po­si­tion hav­ing served over 15 years with the Town of High River.

“I’m re­ally ex­cited about the op­por­tu­nity to ap­ply my ex­pe­ri­ence in the Town of Drumheller – this is a great op­por­tu­nity. We re­ally like the com­mu­nity and look for­ward to be­ing a big part of it,” says Goldthorpe.

This newly cre­ated po­si­tion com­bines the day to day op­er­a­tions of the Bad­lands Com­mu­nity Fa­cil­ity with a big pic­ture ap­proach to com­mu­nity wide recre­ation, arts and cul­ture – in line with the Town of Drumheller’s em­pha­sis on pro­vid­ing out­stand­ing pro­gram­ming to all of our users and com­mu­nity part­ners.

Mr. Goldthorpe com­mences his du­ties on March 21, 2016.
