We have had an ex­cep­tional win­ter, yet it is such a wel­come sight to see the birds mi­grat­ing back, even the pesky star­lings are a sure sign that Spring is com­ing. Just wait­ing for the first robin sight­ing, that will make it of­fi­cial.

Sym­pa­thy of the com­mu­nity goes out to the fam­ily of Keith Mor­ri­son who passed away in Cal­gary at the end of Fe­bru­ary. Sin­cere con­do­lences to his wife, his fam­ily and many friends and rel­a­tives. Ser­vices were held in Delia on March 7.

Last Sun­day seven mem­bers of the Drop In Cen­tre were in Cas­tor to

of see the play “I’ll Get My Man”, a pro­duc­tion of the Cas­tor Lit­tle Theatre. It was an English farce in 3 acts per­formed by a cast of lo­cal ac­tors. The brunch was de­li­cious and we all en­joyed the play.

The En­di­ang floor curl­ing club held their an­nual Sadie Hawkins Day Fun­spiel on Mon­day and hosted six­teen teams from Cas­tor, Halkirk, Stet­tler, Botha, En­di­ang and Delia. A few ladies dressed in Sadie Hawkins cos­tumes, Joan Mor­ri­son from Delia won first prize for best cos­tume. It was a fun day. we all en­joyed that great hos­pi­tal­ity En­di­ang is fa­mous for. Thanks, En­di­ang, for an­other spe­cial day!

The Delia United Church will be hold­ing ser­vices on Palm Sun­day, March 20, and on Easter Sun­day, March 27. Both ser­vices will be at 10 a.m.

Have you got your tick­ets for the Ir­ish Stew sup­per on Satur­day, March 19, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Delia Drop In Cen­tre? Tick­ets are avail­able from any mem­ber of the Drop In Cen­tre, the sup­per fea­tures Ir­ish Stew with all the trim­mings and a great va­ri­ety of pies to choose from.

Re­mem­ber to “spring for­ward” –on Sun­day, March 13, when Day­light Sav­ing Time be­gins. If you don’t turn your clocks ahead you will be late for Church on Sun­day. Re­mem­ber the Pan­cake Break­fast, spon­sored by the Delia Elks and Royal Pur­ple, as well on Sun­day, March 13, from 9 un­til noon.

The gen­eral meet­ing

at the Drop In Cen­tre will hap­pen at 10 in the morn­ing, Thurs­day, March 10. Come for the meet­ing and stay for coffee, vis­it­ing, and cards. Ev­ery­one wel­come.

The Delia Li­brary will host a Fam­ily Book Club in March, ask­ing fam­i­lies to read a book to­gether for the month. This month’s se­lec­tion is Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Mont­gomery. Fam­i­lies can post their com­ments about their read­ing on www.delial­i­brry.ca un­der Book Club Dis­cus­sion tab. Fam­i­lies par­tic­i­pat­ing will have their name en­tered for a draw.

TREX trav­el­ling Art Ex­hibit at the Delia Li­brary March 2 – April 4, 2016, free. This ex­hi­bi­tion con­sid­ers this in­flu­ence of the arts as it has been ex­pressed through both the mu­sic and vis­ual arts of Al­berta. Fea­tur­ing a se­lec­tion of songs pro­duced by some of Al­berta’s most no­table mu­si­cal artists and vis­ual art works drawn from the col­lec­tion of the Al­berta Foun­da­tion for the Arts demon­strat­ing how the lyrics of a song or an im­age hung on a wall can cre­ate a mood, evoke a mem­ory etc.

At­ten­tion par­ents of chil­dren 0 to 6 years old! The C.O.W. Bus will be com­ing to Delia Li­brary in the morn­ing of March 23! Bring your chil­dren and ex­plore the in­ter­ac­tive lit­er­ary cen­tres on this fun class­room on wheels. Please con­tact your li­brary for more in­for­ma­tion on time sched­ules.
