Last week we celebrated 21 birthdays for March and April and over 60 people attended and were entertained by the Pioneer Singers (a choir made up from our own members). They sang songs that everyone could join in, including some Irish songs ready for St. Patrick’s Day which we will be celebrating on Friday, March 18 with a lunch of Irish Stew starting at 11.30 am. On Tuesday morning we had a visit from some of the Drumheller Dragons to play pool with our members.
On Thursday a few people were playing Scrabble and Canasta. There is always something on most afternoons so please call and see if you would like to join in. The table shuffleboard will start in April, just call in and add your name to the list if you would like to play. Bridge starts again on Thursday, March 10 at 7:00 pm. Floor Shuffleboard takes place at the Badlands Community Centre on Friday mornings from 10 - 12. There are now 3 mats so there is room for more players to take part. A trip has been arranged to go to Calgary on Friday, March 11 to a rehearsal of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, there are only a few seats left so give me a call if you would like to join us. We are also arranging to go to the Preview of a play “Outside Mulligar” at Rosebud Theatre on Thursday, March 31 (403 823 6445 to book either trip). If you are interested in trips, why not come along to the library on Friday, March 18 at 1:30 and hear more about the new travel group.
I am pleased to report Conrad Smith is home from hospital, we look forward to seeing you soon Conrad sitting at the puzzle table. Best wishes to Julie Lenfesty who is in hospital, get well soon.
