NGC Pee­wee Rap­tors on way to league fi­nals

The NGC Rap­tors are on their way to the league cham­pi­onship fol­low­ing a come from be­hind over­time win Satur­day af­ter­noon.

The Rap­tors were in Medicine Hat on March 5 for game 3 of the semi fi­nal se­ries. They lost the first game, but tied up the se­ries at home on the pre­vi­ous Sun­day.

On Satur­day how­ever, they found them­selves down 5-2 in the third pe­riod. “With about six min­utes to go we started to make the come­back,” said coach Lyle Caw­iezel.

The Rap­tors tied it up in regulation time and then scored the win­ner in ex­tra time. Zachary Caw­iesel had three goals and one as­sist for four points and Tyler Boyko haD two goals and two as­sists for four points. Chris­tians Ferro as had a goal.

“Over­all I like their com­mit­ment to the team. They have bee re­ally click­ing at get­ting it out of our zone, that has been good the last cou­ple games and then keep­ing the pres­sure up,” he said.

This win puts them on to play Claresholm who beat out Ch­este­mere.

Coach Caw­iezel says they have to be ready for some tough com­pe­ti­tion.

“We tied them last time we played and we had some good games with them where they cap­i­tal­ized in the third pe­riod and scored a cou­ple, but we should be able to com­pete with them pretty good,” said Caw­iezel.

“The Rap­tors will take on Claresholm this Fri­day night at 6 p.m. on the road.
