Dragons fall to the Can­more Ea­gles in game 4 to end sea­son.

The Drumheller Dragons’ 2015-2016 sea­son has come to an end.

The Dragons ended their sea­son in game four of a best of five se­ries against the Can­more Ea­gles. The Ea­gles won game four Mon­day night with a 6-1 win tak­ing a 3-1 win in the se­ries.

The lone goal for the Dragons came from Joren Pate­naude.

The Drumheller Dragons 2015-2016 sea­son came to an end Mon­day night af­ter a 6-1 loss to the Can­more Ea­gles, who will now ad­vance af­ter win­ning the best of five se­ries. Dragons for­ward num­ber 13 Trygve Many Guns (front cen­tre) chases the puck af­ter a face off dur­ing the game.

The se­ries be­gan Thurs­day evening (March 10) in Can­more where the Dragons took a 4-1 win. Con­nor Boyd, Clint Fil­brandt, Keaton Holi­naty and Trygve Many Guns scored the goals for the Dragons. Fri­day night saw game two in Can­more and the Ea­gles turned the score around ty­ing the se­ries with a 5-2 win.

Sun­day saw game three, the first home game in the se­ries, and the Dragons bat­tled hard. Scott Ivey opened scor­ing for the home team in the first pe­riod, but the Ea­gles scored a power play goal at 2:35 of the se­cond to tie the game. Can­more scored one more goal be­fore Fil­brandt scored to tie the game at two goals a piece. The third pe­riod in­cluded two quick goals from the Ea­gles be­fore the Dragons tried to bat­tle back with a third goal scored by Levi Wun­der.

At 19:15 the Ea­gles scored an empty net goal to bring the fi­nal score to 5-3.

The Ea­gles will go on in the play­offs to play the Brooks Ban­dits.
