The Drumheller Mail - - SPORTS - Annette Green

Did you all see my deliberate mistake last week... St. Patrick’s Day is Thursday, March 17 and we will be serving an Irish Stew Lunch. Only two people told me that I had the wrong day - I hope more people read the column than that. Last week’s activities went ahead as usual, we could do with seeing a few more card players on Mondays, Tuesday’s and Thursdays, games start at 1:30 pm. Bridge started again last Thursday at 7:00 pm winners were 1. Jennie DeMille & Jim Criger with 4060 2. Mary & Bill Burke 3800 and 3. Dot Mackie & Lilo Rolf 2870.

On Friday a group of members joined with Sunshine Lodge on a trip to hear the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra with guest pianist Jonathan Biss. After a very enjoyable morning on the journey home we called at a very nice Tavern for lunch. A lovely finish to a good day out.

A trip is being organized to go to the Rosebud Theatre on Thursday, March 31 to see the preview of Outside Mulligar. Submit names as soon as possible please so transportation can be arranged. If anyone is interested in going on outings why not come to a meeting at the Library on Friday, March 18 at 1:30 pm and find out about the Drumheller Travel Club. It will be for seniors anywhere in town and the meeting is to get ideas and suggestions of places you would like to visit.
