With Easter occurring later this week, the traditional “Maundy Thursday” service will take place at the church in Dalum at 7:30 pm on the 24th. Looking ahead to April, the Dalum Fire Protection Association will hold its Annual General Meeting at the fire hall at 7:00 pm on Monday, April 4, and spring cleaning at the church is scheduled for Saturday, the 16th. There are still two openings to be filled for the position of “chip runner” when the Hall Association supplies volunteers to work at the Century Casino on April 6 and 7; please contact Gerald if you can help.
The Friendship Club, or the “Friendly Ladies” as Gunnar Mortensen has been known to call them, met at the home of Eleanor Jensen last Thursday where the five members present exchanged reading material in the form of magazines, some old and some new, when the role was called. Besides the usual socializing, the business part of the meeting included making a donation of five hundred dollars to the Valley Bus Society. Discussion concerning the annual Spring Tea was deferred to the next meeting.
We have recently heard of the new struggle facing our good friend and neighbor, Wagnar Learke, who has begun immunotherapy treatments in his fight to regain good health and the strength he is known for. Best wishes are sent from all across the community as he meets this challenge.
