With Easter oc­cur­ring later this week, the tra­di­tional “Maundy Thurs­day” ser­vice will take place at the church in Dalum at 7:30 pm on the 24th. Look­ing ahead to April, the Dalum Fire Pro­tec­tion As­so­ci­a­tion will hold its An­nual Gen­eral Meet­ing at the fire hall at 7:00 pm on Mon­day, April 4, and spring clean­ing at the church is sched­uled for Satur­day, the 16th. There are still two open­ings to be filled for the po­si­tion of “chip run­ner” when the Hall As­so­ci­a­tion sup­plies vol­un­teers to work at the Cen­tury Casino on April 6 and 7; please con­tact Ger­ald if you can help.

The Friend­ship Club, or the “Friendly Ladies” as Gun­nar Mortensen has been known to call them, met at the home of Eleanor Jensen last Thurs­day where the five mem­bers present ex­changed read­ing ma­te­rial in the form of mag­a­zines, some old and some new, when the role was called. Be­sides the usual so­cial­iz­ing, the busi­ness part of the meet­ing in­cluded mak­ing a do­na­tion of five hun­dred dol­lars to the Val­ley Bus So­ci­ety. Dis­cus­sion con­cern­ing the an­nual Spring Tea was de­ferred to the next meet­ing.

We have re­cently heard of the new strug­gle fac­ing our good friend and neigh­bor, Wag­nar Learke, who has be­gun im­munother­apy treat­ments in his fight to re­gain good health and the strength he is known for. Best wishes are sent from all across the com­mu­nity as he meets this chal­lenge.
