Morrin Community Calendar

Good day to all and it is the second day of spring as I put my thoughts together this Monday morning. And hey, we sure had fun at church yesterday celebrating Palm Sunday Hawaiian style...aloha! We have some great folks who decorated and positively transformed our friendship hall into a colorful potluck party luau...great morning service with Pastor Brent and great food and fun that was enjoyed by all! The Morrin Bethany Lutheran Church also served up a Palm Sunday breakfast so hope they had a great morning as well.

And speaking of food... this is the last call for the Ham Bingo because it is on tonight...Wednesday, at the Morrin Community Hall and the doors are open at 6:00 p.m.

Also a very important announcement on behalf of the 4H multi-club as they ask you to please save up all your recyclables. The club members will be out on a blitz throughout the first two weeks of April to gather up bottles, cans, plastic milk jugs etc. and electronics. They work hard and they have a lot to gain so let’s help them out as they help us out and take our stuff. Contact number I believe is Melanie Nelson at 403-772-0000 if you have items for pickup.

And it is Festival week... from dancing to speech, piano, instruments and singing, there is so much effort put forward by teachers and students, parents and helpers, so go do your best! After that comes Good Friday and Easter week break for everyone at the school.

So, Easter Sunday is just days away...celebrate! We have so many wonderful traditions...Easter egg hunts, chocolate, spring and new life to come...beautiful, glorious Easter and my thoughts are also filled with sobering thankfulness to Jesus, precious Jesus, who gave it all and then came back...to life!

And would like to leave you with a favorite poem by William Cowper.... “I was a stricken deer that left the herd long since with many an arrow deep infixt. My panting side was charged when I withdrew to seek a tranquil death in distant shades. There was I found by one who had himself been hurt by the archers. In His side He bore, and in His hands and feet, the cruel scars. With gentle force soliciting the darts, He drew them forth, and heal’d and bade me live”. Happy chocolately, springy, new life Easter blessings to all...cheers!
