DVSS Dynos win con­so­la­tion at zones

The DVSS Se­nior boy’s bas­ket­ball team wrapped up the sea­son with a strong show­ing at the zone tour­na­ment, win­ning the con­so­la­tion.

The Dynos qual­i­fied for zones with a sixth place rank­ing and trav­elled to Hugh Suther­land School in Carstairs for the South Cen­tral 2A Zone tour­na­ment on the week­end of March 11 and 12.

“We did play our best bas­ket­ball of the year at zone,” said coach Jeff Mes­som.

The teams started the tour­na­ment ver­sus the num­ber 3 seeded Strath­cona Tweedsmuir School of Oko­toks, but lost by 11 points. This put them on the con­so­la­tion side of the draw to face Notre Dame Col­le­giate from High River.

The Dynos won by a con­vinc­ing 25 points and set them up to play in the con­so­la­tion fi­nal ver­sus Prairie Chris­tian Academy of Three Hills. Again, the Dynos showed re­solve and won by 18 points.

The Dynos will see six se­niors grad­u­ate from the team this year.

The DVSS Dynos wrapped up their sea­son with a con­so­la­tion win at the South Cen­tral 2A Zone tour­na­ment in Carstairs.
