The Drumheller Mail - - SPRING HOMES & GARDEN - Annette Green

The end of March didn’t leave like a lion and we were able to greet April with beautiful sunshine and actually leave home in light coats and without winter boots.

The card players still visit the centre most days as well as the guys who come in to play pool. Bridge took place again last Thursday and winners were 1st Jennie DeMille & Don Robertson 4190, 2nd Beryl Sigfusson & Helen Peers 3150. 3rd Dan & Muriel McDermid 2580.

The calendar for April is filling up fast, as well as the usual activities there will some extra ones for members to make a note of:

During Volunteer Week an evening on Wednesday, April 13, has been arranged at the B.C.F. for volunteers to be entertained by the Singing Mabels. They have been here before and were very good. This evening is for volunteers so make sure your name is on the list (it is filling up fast).

Saturday, April 16, we are having a Pot Luck Supper with music and dancing. It is going to be a great evening so please bring your friends.

Tuesday, April 19 we will be going on a trip to Wayne on the local Trolley Bus.

Saturday, April 23, we will be holding the next Crib tournament. Call in at the Pioneer Trail to make sure you add your name on the appropriate list.

Welcome home to Daisy and Alice. Both members have been in the hospital.

Thank you to Joanne for allowing me time at the general meeting to tell everyone about the newly formed Drumheller Travel Club. It is hoped to arrange trips on a regular basis, mostly day trips but longer if enough members want to go. Our first outing was to the Rosebud Theatre and was a great success. Information and comments on any items please email annettem
