Russell, Kristin, Brooke and Garrett Fandry along with Scott, Monica, Justine and Scott travelled to the Grand Canyon to help Kristin and Scott’s dad celebrate his 65th birthday. This was a special birthday in more than one way, as it was his request to hike the canyon. 28 km and 9000’ total elevation decline and incline. The view from the Colorado River looking up was amazing, so worth the 12 kms of switch back trails and watching our footing as the mule trains passed by. The Bright Angel trail heading back up was 16 kms and such different terrain than the trail down. It was more of a wooded trail and not as steep as the Kaibab trail that we had gone into the canyon on. It was the most amazing, exhilarating and exhausting experience that we have all ever experienced!

Tristan and Chase played on a third team together in the tournament and made it to the final game! Unfortunately they lost in overtime to the team that had Bassano members Eric Fladhammer and Riley Lunn. Dexter Hale played at the Bantam level and lost out in the semi finals.
