Hand Hills Grapevine
Hello Hand Hills….The trees are taking on a real green color as the warm weather continues. The alfalfa is starting to poke thru. Stay away Jack Frost!
The Work In Progress Open House was attended by only thirty people but it was nice to be able to walk them thru the progress of the Club and answer their questions. Chairman of Special Areas, Jordan Christensen, spoke and addressed the fact that the project is a big undertaking and that Special Areas commends the Hand Hills. Karen Richardson, from UFA in Hanna was in attendance as was Fred Reinbold, the UFA Bulk Station Manager in Hanna and Delia. Fred is relatively new to the area and felt that it was fitting that he acquaint himself with the Hand Hills area. Thanks for coming Karen and Fred! A brief history of the Building process was given and it was noted that it was almost two years to the date that the Hand Hills won the $50,000.00 from UFA. An awesome cake, decorated in the UFA colors along with Cupcakes of similar color, was made by Jolene Scott for all to enjoy. A very special presentation was made to the Club and was dedicated to the 100th Stampede. Julia, Wayne and Corrine Lenfesty presented a wagon wheel wall clock to commemorate the 100th Stampede. The clock was made by Wayne and will have a special place on the walls of the Clubhouse. The Hand Hills still holds a very special place in their hearts and for that we thank them from the bottom of our hearts. (See Pictures)
Good news was received that Alice Wilson has gone home from the hospital after almost a month. She will have to take it easy but home is the best place to recover. Glad to hear that you are on the rebound Alice. Thoughts from the Hills are for a speedy recovery.
There is a meeting this Thursday night at 7. With the Stampede coming up FAST, meeting will be held every two weeks. Please plan to attend. Also if you can help at the 100th please phone me and I will put you on the work schedule.
