A very busy week last week as well as the usual activities, on Wednesday there was a special lunch at Sunshine Lodge for their volunteers who help at Sunshine and HillView.
On Wednesday evening it was the turn of all volunteers to be recognized by the town at a special evening meal with some excellent entertainment by the Travelling Mabels. Thank you to all for providing these special events, it was really appreciated. Saturday the Pioneer Trail hosted a Pot Luck Supper followed by dancing to The Howling Coyotes.
About 40 people attended and a good time was enjoyed by all those who were there and the food that everyone provided was very good and enjoyable. Thank you to all those who took the Pot Luck supper. It is an event we hope to repeat at a later date. Bridge last week was won by Dan & Freda Hird with 3820. 2. Jim Criger & Russ Chuprun 2880. 3. Jennie DeMille & Don Robertson 2410.
Saturday the 23rd sees the CRIB tournament, there are still places available but please ring and add your name to the list (403 823 6565) to help with the catering. The 23rd is also St. Georges Day so try and wear your Red, White and Blue. For all the literary folk out there it is also William Shakespeare’s Birthday 400 years - there will be a parade through the streets and great celebrations in Stratford upon Avon. Near my previous home. Tuesday 3rd May will be the Birthday Party for May and June. Friday, May 6 there will be a Travel Club outing to the rehearsal of The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra
The first of the summer season. To get more details about the Drumheller Travel Club I am usually at the Pioneer Trail several times a week. Can I just wish Daisy and Conrad Smith best wishes on the move into their new home at Sunshine Lodge.
