I had a special surprize this morning when I received the news that my newest great grandbaby had just arrived,welcome to the world little Henry Michael Thomas Leslie, I am looking forward to meeting you very soon! Congratulations to proud parents Michelle and Ty, to big sisters Layla and Eva, also to beaming grandparents Mike and Jo! Happy days!
The Birthday Party for members having birthdays in March and April was held at the Drop In Centre on Wednesday afternoon, with Lisa Skaaning and Elsie Limpert as hostesses. Birthday people were Pat Hoover, Terry Hodson, Joan Morrison, Rick Fair, and Eva Nielsen. Elsie called bingo while Lisa handed out prizes and shared some comical readings with us. A delicious lunch of strawberry shortcake was served by the hostesses and enjoyed by all. The door prize, a potted white rose, was won by Betty Clark. The next birthday party will be in June for members and friends having birthdays in May and June.
Last reminder for the Queen’s birthday celebration in honor of Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday! Sponsored by the Delia Historical Society, the celebration will take place at the Delia Drop In Centre from 2 to 4 p.m., on Thursday, April 21. Wear a hat-there is going to be a prize for the best hat. Sounds like a fun afternoon, you don’t want to miss it.
The Delia School Dream Team are presenting a Comedy Hypnotist on Saturday, April 30, at the Delia Community Centre, ham supper at 5:30, show to follow at 7:30. Call the school at 403-364- 3777 for tickets or more information. This is a fundraiser to help send the Dream Team to experience history where it happened.
There’s going to be a party!! Charlie Thompson is going to be ninety years young! His family are inviting everyone to the Delia Drop In Cen- tre on Sunday, May 8 to join them in celebrating Charlie’s special day. Come for cake and coffee on Sunday, May 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. to wish Charlie happy birthday. No gifts please.
Kindermusik is now registering for spring classes in Delia on Thursdays from May 5 to June 2. There will be no pot luck at the Drop In Centre in April, pot luck will resume in May. Crib tournaments at the Drop In Centre have been cancelled for the summer, also movie nights on the first Monday of the month have been cancelled until fall. Both may resume in October depending on demand.
Communities in Bloom are sponsoring a Village Clean Up on Monday, May 2, mark it on your calendar. Meet at the Drop In at 7 p.m., to pick up garbage bags etc.
Developing good bedtime routines – this free session presented by the Golden Prairie Parent Link Centre- at the Delia library on Thursday, April 28 from 3;30 to 5:30 p.m. Come meet other parents and share experiences and ideas about being a parent and managing difficult behavior at bedtime. Snack and childcare provided.
