Drumheller bad­minton swings into Zones

Drumheller Val­ley Sec­ondary School’s bad­minton team has had a busy cou­ple of weeks.

Twenty-four se­nior high stu­dents com­peted in Divi­sion­als in Three Hills and nine made their way to Zones on Satur­day, April 30.

Leo Hong of the DVSS Bad­minton team placed third, as well as Al­bert Hua and Jack Zhang.

Coach, Alex Dex­tras, has been pleased with the team all sea­son.

The ju­nior high team had 23 stu­dents com­pete in Divi­sion­als on Fri­day, April 28.

Jay­den Wipf placed first in ban­tam girls sin­gles and will be pro­ceed­ing onto Zones in Can­more on Thurs­day, May 5.

Tessa Chomas placed third, as well as dou­bles team Guia Cayabyab and Brook­lyn Plante.

Wendy Olsen is pleased with how the sea­son pro­ceeded, “The kids were re­ally good and worked re­ally hard. They hope­fully learned a lit­tle bit more about Bad­minton.”
