The Canada Day Parade will run a slightly modified route this year.

The parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. on July 1 alongside Riverside Drive, then wind its way through downtown on 3 Ave E before turning south on 1 Street West then east on Railway Avenue and finish on 2 Street East.

The Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce said the changes were implemented to provide “the best experience for parade participants and spectators,” alleviate traffic flow issues, allow parade participants to easily and safely exit the parade route, and allow improved access to the Canada Day festivities at the foot of the World’s Largest Dinosaur.

Registration for the Canada Day Parade is now open by contacting the Chamber at 403-823-8100.

The Chamber would also like to remind all parade participants that candy or other promotional items must be handed out, and not thrown from vehicles.

Any parade entries that include livestock are required to submit proof of liability insurance along with the parade registration form at least one week prior to the event.
