Re­mem­ber the Pan­cake Break­fast, spon­sored by the Delia Elks, at the Com­mu­nity Cen­tre on Sun­day morn­ing, May 8, from nine un­til noon. This is the Mother’s Day Pan­cake Break­fast, so make it a spe­cial morn­ing, take Mom out for pan­cakes at the Com­mu­nity Cen­tre. Later on in the early af­ter­noon on Sun­day, it will be time to wish Char­lie Thomp­son a happy 90th Birth­day at the Delia Drop In Cen­tre. Come for cake and cof­fee from 2 to 4 on Sun­day, May 8, to help Char­lie cel­e­brate be­ing 90 years young. No gifts please.

The gen­eral meet­ing at the Drop In Cen­tre will be held Thurs­day, May 12, at 10 in the morn­ing. Come and hear what is hap­pen­ing at the Drop In. On Thurs­day, May 19, rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the Al­berta Coun­cil of Ag­ing will give a pre­sen­ta­tion at the Drop In Cen­tre. This pre­sen­ta­tion should be of in­ter­est to any­one who is a se­nior, or to any­one who is in­volved in car­ing for se­nior peo­ple. Come and hear what help is avail­able to se­niors, or let them know what help you would like to see avail­able to se­niors. Re­mem­ber; although you may still be young, some­day you will be a se­nior cit­i­zen. What will you want avail­able in your life? Make your voice heard. That is also the day of the Pot Luck Lunch at the Drop In. Come for the pre­sen­ta­tion and stay for lunch.

Mon­day, April 25, was the last day of curl­ing for the End­moor Floor Curl­ing Club for this sea­son. We wound up the sea­son with some fun floor curl­ing plus a very en­joy­able lunch at Ruthie’s Roost. Spe­cial thanks to Eleanor and Ken Schultz for all their hard work and or­ga­ni­za­tional skills that make it pos­si­ble for the rest of us to en­joy the games at En­di­ang. Hope to see you all again in the fall!

The Delia Li­brary will hold their an­nual garage sale on May 28 from 9 to 1 p.m. Dona­tions to the sale are very wel­come and can be dropped off two weeks be­fore the sale. Call Judy at 403 364 2802.

Spring Li­brary Book Fair –The goal for this Spring’s Book Fair was to have pur­chased a book for ev­ery stu­dent in our school and we shat­tered that goal. $1020 in books were kept to put into our li­brary, 16 books were do­nated to Delia Class­room li­braries by stu­dents and par­ents. $60 in prizes were dis­trib­uted to stu­dent win­ners. The Fam­ily Event door prize win­ner was Chase Ollen. He won $50 in free books for his fam­ily and his class­room.

The Delia Li­brary is host­ing a Fam­ily Book Club in May, and are ask­ing fam­i­lies to read a book to­gether for the month and this month’s se­lec­tion is “The Se­cret Gar­den” by Frances Hodg­son Bur­nett. Fam­i­lies par­tic­i­pat­ing will have their names en­tered for a draw.

On Satur­day, May 7, there will be a proper tree and shrub prun­ing for home­own­ers from 9 a.m –12 p.m at the Delia Li­brary – free. This work­shop will cover the what, where, when and how of prun­ing trees and shrubs, start­ing with three hours of class­room in­struc­tion suit­able for both new pruners and those with a solid foun­da­tion look­ing to im­prove their skills. Call the li­brary at 403 364 3777 to re­serve your spot for this work­shop.

Also on Satur­day, May 7, from 1:30 – 4:30 at the Delia Li­brary – In­tro­duc­tion to 3D De­sign and 3D Printer Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion Work­shop – Free. Pre reg­is­ter by Thurs­day, May 5 to re­serve your spot. Learn to de­sign sim­ple 3D ob­jects and pre­pare them for print­ing. De­sign your own or down­load ready to print de­signs from web­sites such as Thin­gi­verse and oth­ers. Also, dur­ing the last hour of the work­shop learn the ba­sics on how to use the Delia Li­brary 3D printer and ob­tain your printer cer­ti­fi­ca­tion to use the 3D printer.

Mak­erspace at your li­brary-: May 5-games at lunch. May 10 –ad­ven­tures in Yarn –learn to hand knit – 7-8:30 p.m.
