Hand Hills Grapevine
Hello Hand Hills…seeding is in full swing and it is beginning to look like we have escaped winter. The Saskatoon trees are in bloom as are some of the apple trees. Stay away Jack Frost. We are still looking pretty good moisture wise but a good rain would sure spruce things up. Our thoughts go out to the Fort McMurray fire victims. Our complaints should all be muted when we see what others are going thru. Help where you can!
The Hand Hills Community is sending Deepest Condolences to the Raymond Sieppert Family on the sudden passing of Judy Sieppert. Judy was a friendly, happy go lucky person who loved to visit. Judy was a volunteer in the Community that could always be depended on to help with any of the catering jobs that the Club had going. Short notice didn’t bother her as she was always ready to help. R.I.P. Judy. You will be missed.
There is a Club Meeting this Thursday at 7. Come on down and help put the finishing touches on the 100th Stampede. Help is always needed. Phone if you can volunteer for a shift or two at the 100th!
The Souvenir Committee is trying something new this year and you have until this Friday, the 13th to give it a try. A catalogue has been put out that has all the souvenirs that are available for you to order before the Stampede. Place your order before Friday and your items will be ready for pick up at the Stampede. All orders must be paid in full. The same souvenirs will be available for sale at the 100th but in limited quantities so it is advised to order early. Go on Face Book, the Website (www. handhills.a.b.ca) or phone Tally Quaschnick to get your order in. There are 100th Belt buckles, hoodies, t-shirts, go cups, mugs, hats, crib boards, cutting boards just to mention a few.
With all of the Dance Recital over I am now wondering what the next scheduled event is for the families in the Hills. Is it baseball, soccer, 4-H or all of the above? I saw Rod Moench sporting a t-shirt that showed how proud of a father he is. The shirt said… Dance Dad. Looked good on you Rod! From what I know of Jillian you have every reason to be proud!
She is going to be 90 years young. I am talking about our old neighbor and friend, Edna Preston. The Hand Hills is wishing you the best day ever on May 13 and many more to come.
I also heard thru the Grapevine that our neighbor to the north is turning another year older as well. Hughie McDonald will be 93! (If my memory serves me right). Happy Birthday Hughie and many more. Till next week…I hope that everyone had a great Mother’s Day. Being a Mother is the hardest job that you will ever love!
