Organizers of the Ride for Brandon Hall presented the family with a cheque for $20,000 on Wednesday evening. The poker run was held Saturday to raise funds for Brandon Hall, a Drumheller man who underwent surgery to remove a tumor in Indiana this week. There are still more funds coming in for the family. Pictured from left is organizers Jamie Worman, Ashley Fredrickson, Top Rocker co-owner Linda Buchamer, and father Michael Hall. (Cranton) Alyea this past week. Cathy was born and raised in this community, receiving her education at the Craigmyle School and later at the Delia School. Cathy and her husband, Art, returned to this community some number of years ago, when they took up residence on the Cranton family farm. Sincere condolences go out to Art and to Cathy’s two sons, Joe and Rob, as well as the extended Cranton and Alyea families.

Condolences also go out to Brent and Debi Olmstead and family on the passing of Debi’s brother Allen Lamson, after a lengthy illness. It is so hard to lose a family member this young; know that your community is thinking of you during this difficult time.

Now onto some happier news: Mary Heathers-Up- shaw was thrilled to attend her granddaughter’s first communion on Sunday, May 1. Granddaughter Sepreina Playford, was one of a group of 24 who received their first communion at the Olds Catholic Church. It was a meaningful event for Grandma Mary.

Birthday greetings go out to Jim Norlie, Bradley Bramfield and Scott Stern, all sharing May 14; Clayton Faechner on May 16; Brett Rees on May 17; Laureen Strellioff on May 18 and George Maetche on May 19. Have a great day!
