Town hires new Eco­nomic De­vel­op­ment Of­fi­cer

The Town of Drumheller is pleased to an­nounce the hir­ing of Ju­lia Field­ing as the new Eco­nomic De­vel­op­ment and Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Of­fi­cer.

Mrs. Field­ing will com­mence her new role on May 25, 2016. mem­ber of the Drumheller Pub­lic Li­brary Board.

Mrs. Field­ing has over 15 years of ex­pe­ri­ence in a num­ber of mu­se­ums in Canada and the United King­dom in the ca­pac­i­ties of Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor, Ed­u­ca­tion Man­ager and Learn­ing and in­for­ma­tion Of­fi­cer.

She also has ex­pe­ri­ence work­ing in a mu­nic­i­pal gov­ern­ment ca­pac­ity for the City of Coven­try (Eng­land).

Ju­lia holds a Bach­e­lor of Sci­ence De­gree from the Univer­sity of Hud­der­s­field ( York­shire, United King­dom) and a Post Grad­u­ate Cer­tifi­cate from the Univer­sity of Leeds (United King­dom).

“Ju­lia’s ed­u­ca­tion and ex­pe­ri­ence make her a great fit for this po­si­tion,” says Mayor Terry Yemen.

The Mayor adds, “It is an im­por­tant time for Drumheller to move for­ward on a num­ber of key eco­nomic de­vel­op­ment ac­tiv­i­ties and Ju­lia will be work­ing hard with the Eco­nomic De­vel­op­ment Ad­vi­sory Com­mit­tee to en­sure that we con­tinue to grow.”

The Eco­nomic De­vel­op­ment and Com­mu­ni­ca­tions func­tions are keys to mak­ing Drumheller an in­no­va­tive and vi­brant com­mu­nity.
