Toxic Waste round-up in Starland begins
Starland residents have an opportunity to clean up their homes and yards and make them safer at the Starland County Toxic Waste Round-up. On Friday June 3, residents have the opportunity to drop off unwanted chemicals at the Public Works Yard in Delia. Some of the items accepted include corrosives such as rust removers, waste acids, automotive and household batteries and cleaners. Flammable items are also accepted such as oilbased paint, solvents and degreasers, wood preservatives and gasoline. Poisonous items such as outdated pharmaceuticals, ant, rodent and weed killers, photographic chemicals and antifreeze are accepted as well as reactives such as waste bleach aerosols and unidentified chemical. The Round-up also includes e-waste such as televisions, electrical and computer equipment.
