The way that all the plants and trees are in full blossom and green it’s hard to believe that we just had the May long weekend. This rain we had certainly was a blessing.

Congratulations to the Munson 300 Raffle draw winners. Curt McNaughton’s name was drawn on May 14 and Tanya Hems and Linda Lucey of Drumheller were the lucky combined winner which was drawn on May 21. Thanks for buying a ticket and supporting the fundraiser. Mike Beaudet drew Curt’s name for us and he spent some time refreshing our memories on Munson history which was fun.

A group of very dedicated volunteers have been working on the third edition of the Rumsey-Rowley History book. They will be celebrating their efforts on June 10, 2016 at the Rumsey Hall with the book launch. The books will be for sale and pick up at that time. There will be a beef-ona-bun supper from 5:00 – 7:00, with entertainment to follow. Completing a community history book is no small project. Thank you to everyone involved.

This Friday, the First Annual Arts Gala will be happening at the Morrin School on Friday May 27, doors will open at 6:15 and the event will begin at 7:00. This is an opportunity for the students to showcase, drama, music and Slam Poetry. This will serve as a fundraiser to support the Fine Arts program at the Morrin School. Refreshments and dessert will be served.

The group of quilters that Marg Sharpe organized a couple of weekends ago to make quilts for Fort McMurray residents was a great success with about 12 ladies involved. Thank you for organizing this Marg and thank you ladies for all your hard work.

Here is my thought for the day: What if everything you’re going through right now is preparing you for a dream bigger than you can image?

Have a great week.
