Isn’t it amazing how our parched countryside turned green almost overnight? I have always said that Mother Nature knows how to work her wonders in this part of the world; a beautiful 2½ inch rain just when we needed it the most this past week and almost another inch this Monday morning.
The last pancake breakfast until the fall is coming up quickly in Craigmyle. Those of you who are feeling sorry for yourselves because you are not attending the Hand Hills 100th Stampede, might want to make yourselves feel a bit better by coming out to a fine breakfast at the Craigmyle Church on Sunday, June 5.
Hamburger lovers might also want to come out to the Drumheller District 4-H beef show and sale held in the Delia arena on Monday, June 6. 4-H youngsters would appreciate all who come out to see the work they have done in the past year with their animals. The Craigmyle Historic Society will be serving up their excellent homemade burgers at a very reasonable price. Do come out and enjoy the 4-H show and sale, as well as a great lunch.
I do have privy to a bit of inside information in our community. It seems as though a Craigmyle “oldtimer” will be celebrating his 80th birthday with an open house at the Bergman farm on June 25. Stay tuned for more details regarding this “drop-in” event.
Birthday greetings go out to Colleen Littlechild on June 3; Carol Lenfesty and Kara Rees sharing June 4; Dave Eggins and Haley Stern sharing June 6; Joe Lenfesty on June 7 and David Lenfesty and Ryan Reding sharing June 9. Happy Anniversary to Don and Ruth Gordon also on June 9. Have a great day!
