Morrin Community Calendar
Rain, rain, beautiful rain... looks like it might be an all day soft, gentle soaking as I look out and sit by the fireplace and write the news on this last Monday morning in May. It was a nice, warm, sunny Sunday... good thing Bob got the lawn mower out and cut the grass. When the sun comes back out, our part of the world is going to be looking lovely and lush and velvety green.
So, just wish to start things off today and send a shout out to all those who came to the Art Gala at the Morrin School this past Friday evening. It was very well attended and the gymnasium was a buzz of excitement with the auction and drama and snacks, and all the kids and staff and helpers wish to say thankyou for the community support.
Also the cookie dough arrived last week and the Grade 5 and 6 kids were pretty pumped when the truck showed up and the driver unloaded a huge flat of stacked boxes. It was fun to watch them rush outside, sort it all out and find the boxes with their names. I thought Charly did well to sell 12 orders, I think Alyssa Wilkins had 41 in total... quite a remarkable effort on behalf of Mr. Saltys and his students. I have to say, it was really well organized and everything came nicely packed and labeled. Again, thanks to everyone who bought a tub or more in support of the grade 5/6 class trip to the legislature that is happening Wednesday June 1.
And last but not least... I wish to say congratulations and job well done to my wonderful husband, Dr. Robert E. Graham (R.E.G. as long-time receptionist Tink refers to him) as he has officially retired from family medicine after 32 years of selfless service to the Drumheller community... so proud of you dear Bob and love you to pieces! He will stay on to do Anesthetics and ER Call so you may still see him around the hospital. And with that announcement, it looks like there will be a big-all-are-welcome party on the evening of June 16 at the Badlands Community Facility to celebrate the established careers of some of the longest serving doctors in the Drumheller Valley... Dr. Racz, Dr. Graham, Dr. Jordan and Dr. Neffgan. Thank you all so very much for coming and staying. Thank you for doing the very difficult, demanding job, day-in and day-out... interviewing, examining, diagnosing, treating, encouraging, operating on, befriending, smiling with, crying with, praying with and helping so many people for so many years with your fine minds, hearts, hands, words, medical skills and training. God bless you. Jesus delights in you. We salute you. Now... let’s have fun! Cheers!
