Orkney Oracle

Hello again you good folk and I hope you enjoyed the “million dollar rain” as much as I did. I guess the campers weren’t so happy but perhaps they should realize that the rain was providing food on their tables.

There are only three birthdays for June: Brad Sorensen 3rd; Alyse McGhee 6th; and Donal Mueller 13th. There are no anniversaries for June.

I must apologize to Ashley Sorensen for missing her name along with the grads from Three Hills High on the long weekend.

The community would also like to congratulate Lincoln Lueller who is graduating from Prairie in Three Hills at the end of June.

My long week-end was busy and fun with numerous family here. Starting on Saturday, Roberta Keichinger from Lethbridge, Chad and Katherine and Cassie Keichinger from Weyburn, Sk. and Jayden West from Martinsville Sk., Rick West from Beiseker, and Adam and Trish Pigeon (Pjohn) and their four girls, Eva, Hera, Gemma, and Lexa from Edmonton here for a lively supper and visit. Sunday afternoon Meaghan, Braydon, Jack and Cooper from Airdrie were here for a short visit and took Jayden back with them and then he was at Grandpa and Grandma West’s for Monday and back here Tuesday morning to go home with Chad’s family. Who could ask for a more fun time? A house full of grandkids and great-grandkids for 3 days is so precious to have happen.

Here’s a heads up for the Orkney Sports Day on June 18 starting about 3:00 p.m. with a ball game and supper about 5:30 p.m. Ladies please bring a salad and pie. Come out to watch some good ball and have some fun!

That’s it for this week and remember we are now into June so date your papers with the proper month.
