We have been blessed with rains in our community, but Thursday night’s hail storm did varying degrees of damage. The almost inch of rain that accompanied it was welcomed and hopefully, in the long run, it will do more good than the hail did harm. It has always been said that farmers do not need to go to Reno or Las Vegas; they gamble enough on the farm. So true!
There is another Craigmyle young person who has made this community proud. Kelsey Olmstead has graduated from the University of Lethbridge with her bachelor in nursing. Her convocation was held on June 2 with her parents, Brent and Debi Olmstead; her sister Danielle Olmstead; Grandma Gail Olmstead; and friend Travis Daniel attending. Kelsey will be studying for the next few weeks and then taking her NCLEX exam to become a registered nurse. Congratulations Kelsey, many of us older folk really hope you might be the one looking after us one day!
Speaking of “older folk” there is one in our community who is celebrating a birthday milestone. Art Bergman will be turning 80 very soon and his family will be hosting a come and go open house at the Bergman farm on June 25 beginning at 7:00 pm. All folks are invited to come out and give Art their best wishes and enjoy a social time.
The Delia Library will be closed on June 30 and July 1 in recognition of Canada Day. Stay tuned to this column for all the great programs the library is offering for the summer months.
Birthday greetings go out to Gail Olmstead on June 18; Jim Hunter on June 19; and Marlene Bannister on June 20. Happy Anniversary to Reg and Kathy Rew on June 17. Have a great day!
