Car­bon na­tive awarded schol­ar­ships at Univer­sity of Cen­tral Oklahoma

The Univer­sity of Cen­tral Oklahoma Col­lege of Lib­eral Arts re­cently awarded two schol­ar­ships to Car­bon, Al­berta, Canada, na­tive Amanda Adie in recog­ni­tion of her aca­demic ex­cel­lence and out­stand­ing ser­vice to the univer­sity.

Adie, a sopho­more phi­los­o­phy ma­jor, re­ceived the Alumni and Fac­ulty Schol­ar­ship for Phi­los­o­phy, worth $500, and the Fin­ney Schol­ars Schol­ar­ship in Hu­man­i­ties and Phi­los­o­phy, worth $1,285.

“The fac­ulty and staff in the Col­lege of Lib­eral Arts are very proud of each of our award and schol­ar­ship re­cip­i­ents. Th­ese stu­dents have demon­strated a great deal of ef­fort and we are pleased to rec­og­nize their out­stand­ing work,” said Joan Lux­en­burg, Ed.D., in­terim dean of Cen­tral’s Col­lege of Lib­eral Arts.

With strong con­nec­tions through­out the Oklahoma City metro, the Univer­sity of Cen­tral Oklahoma is ded­i­cated to de­vel­op­ing in stu­dents the con­fi­dence to suc­ceed through trans­for­ma­tive learn­ing ex­pe­ri­ences.
