Please plan on attending the “Farewell to Rockyford School” BBQ on Thursday, June 23 at 5:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend and celebrate the many decades the school has been in our community, before closing its doors for the final time at the end of June.

Rockyford Lions Club is having a Bull-a-Rama once again this year. This event will take place at the rodeo grounds on Thursday, June 30. Things get started with barbecued burgers at 6 p.m., followed by mutton busting at 8:30 p.m., bull riding starts at 9 p.m., followed by the awesome fireworks display at 11 p.m. Admission is free after 11 p.m. for the Canada Day fireworks. St. Rita’s Church would like to invite both parish and community members to a potluck supper on Sunday, June 26 at 5:00 pm being hosted in the Parish Room of the Community Centre. Bill Locke of St. Joseph’s Parish in Calgary and Fr. Joseph of St. Rita’s will be presenting a final report on the “VIKAS India Housing Project” and would like to share the information with all members who donated funds to this very worthwhile cause. Please join in as we share a meal and friendship together. Each family is asked to contribute an item for the potluck supper. Beverages will be provided. Anyone interested is most welcome to attend.
A reminder that registration for Rockyford Library’s Drama Camp 2016 is open to children aged 7+. This is a great opportunity for them to enjoy a safe and creative space right at home to freely express themselves and their ideas, to foster a stronger sense of community and a greater passion and appreciation for the arts. Learn to create a viking knit bracelet of wire in any range of colours you can imagine at the library on Thursday, June 16, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Registration fee covers all costs of supplies and use of tools. Space is limited so please register before June 16.
Speaking Volumes Book Club has its last meeting before the summer break at Rockyford Library, 7:00 on Wednesday, June 15. Enjoy reading books you may not normally have read and discussing them with friends. This is a very social group with snacks and a lot of laughter.
Rockyford Library’s photography group has their last meeting before the summer on Wednesday, June 22, at 6:30. All you need is an interest in improving your photographs. The group has monthly photo challenges and then meet to discuss how they did. Interested? Drop in and check it out!
“Artists’ Gardens: Nature Inspiring Art” is a videoconference about the con- nection between nature and art. Join us at the library at 7:00 on Tuesday, June 21 for this presentation by the Royal Botanical Gardens.
Chocolate lovers will love “The Benefits of Raw Chocolate”, a video-conference at the library on Thursday, June 23 (7-8 p.m.). This is a raw foods information session and demonstration of how very simple it is to make high quality chocolates that will also improve your overall health.
