Big Valley Bulletin
Welcome to summer. Big Valley’s tourist season is well underway. It is amazing how quickly we all get into the swing of things once the train starts arriving regularly. Between our regular work schedules, the lawns, the gardens and all our home improvement projects, it seems we spend our time preparing to enjoy our all too short summer season and waiting to hear that train whistle.
Summer action has begun at the Historical Society. There have been many visitors to the new Tool Museum as well as to McAlister Motors. They had another student worker start this past week and the third worker will be starting on Saturday. They should now be able to have both museums open more regularly. By the way, the Historical Society has done a rough count and concluded that there are around 11,000 antique tools on display in the new museum. It is fairly full and Rod Miller still has a few hundred more tools left at his workshop. I guess the building wasn’t quite big enough for his whole collection. Who’d have thought!
With the beginning of summer “holidays” everyone begins gearing up to deliver kids’ summer activities.
