The Under 8 Red Raptors Drumheller Minor Soccer Club team claimed bronze medals at the Annual Carbon Sports Day Tournament last Saturday, June 11.

The Red Raptors opened the tournament with a narrow 3-2 loss to Carbon but were encouraged with this result as they only had 4 players for most of the 5 vs. 5 game. In their next game, the Red Raptors settled for a 3-3 tie vs. Irricana and finished the tournament in winning fashion defeating Bowden 6-1.

Head coach Gavin Makse was ecstatic with the Red Raptors efforts at this tournament as this marked the first time the team had ever played a game all season. In addition, the majority of the team falls in the Under 6 category, which made the results even more impressive by playing up a level.

The Under 10 Drumheller Minor Soccer Club team also competed at this tournament and tied for 4th place.

The DMSC Spring soccer season comes to an end on Wednesday, June 22 with the annual barbecue at the soccer fields in the Industrial Area.
