The Drumheller Mail - - SPORTS - Patty Steen 403-368-3820

It has been a good weekend with the celebration of Samantha and Brandon Nemetz’s wedding. They were married out in the pasture near the original homestead of Samantha’s greatgrandparents and Samantha has the distinction of being the first grandchild to be married on both sides of the family. Congratulations to you both, may you have many happy years together.

The 4-H district exchange program hosted a Fathers day breakfast the next day and it was a great success. The kids involved with this will be hosting their Ontario 4-Hers first so they can take them to the Calgary Stampede as one of the events they attend. They will be here during the first part of July for just over a week then our kids will go there in August to see what Oxford County, Ontario has to offer.

Morrin Graduation is just around the corner. It will be held on Friday, June 24 with the ceremonies starting at 8:00 p.m. at the school. There are only 7 graduates this year. They are Amy Adams, Erica Nelson, Katie Primrose, Carson Hodge, Mitchell Hodge, Tyler Hayes and Derek Cullum.

Keep in mind that the new History Book is available at the Library so stop in any time during my working hours of Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 to 6:00 p.m. You can also get them from any one of the Historical Society members.

The Rumsey/Rowley 4-H Beef Club awards night will be held on Sunday evening, July 3 starting at 6 pm in the Curling rink. The change of venue is due to the fact that the hall will be busy with the Storch reunion. It is sure rare that we have a double booking in our town but I guess it happens.

Lastly, if you haven’t got a chance to see the Midget age baseball team playing up at the diamonds they will be there again this evening starting at 6:30 so head on up because there is nothing more fun than watching ball on a beautiful summers evening.

The STARS ride is also on schedule for this August. It will be held on Sunday the 7th so contact Rob Richmond if you are interested in joining the ride this year and pick up a pledge sheet early. Here is a little something to make you giggle and tease: What does a doctor give an elephant who’s going to be sick? (Plenty of room!)

A woman has seven daughters, and each daughter has a brother. How many children does the woman have all together? (She has eight children!)

Have a great week.
