May 3, 1929 - June 13, 2016 Verna, beloved wife of Howard “Howdy” Brinton (pre­de­ceased) of Strath­more, passed away peace­fully sur­rounded by fam­ily in Cal­gary on June 13, 2016 at the age of 87 years. Verna will be dearly missed by her chil­dren Wendy (Dar­ryl) of Strath­more, Wayne (Colleen) and Earl (Dawn) both of Hus­sar, grand­chil­dren Na­dine ( Todd) of Onoway, Devin (Jess) of St. Al­bert, Ty of Strath­more, Shaun and Shan­non of Hus­sar, Tan­ner of Strath­more and Mar­cie of Bas­sano as well as great grand­chil­dren Chance, Teyler and Bo­hdi of St. Al­bert. Verna will also be lov­ingly missed by cousins Gale (Bob) Telford of Strath­more, Julie Wil­son of Cal­gary and var­i­ous other rel­a­tives. Verna was born in Rose­town, Saskatchewan on May 3, 1929 She met Howdy in Cal­gary and they mar­ried in Novem­ber 1950. They started farm­ing in the Hus­sar area. Verna was a mem­ber of The Farm Women’s Union of Al­berta. With re­tire­ment they moved to Strath­more in 1992. Verna’s pas­sion was bak­ing desserts and if she knew you were com­ing, your favourite would be ready. She also loved her flower beds and gar­den. Af­ter mov­ing to Strath­more, Verna met Marg Ire­land and be­gan a pas­sion for quilt­ing and tea.
