Hello again for this week’s edition of the news. The Centre was busy this past weekend with Hi-Way 9 having a campout for their staff. The weather did not co-operate at times but I’m sure they had fun. There have been several weekends booked so far this summer and the Centre is getting to be known as a good place for a gathering. Nice to see.
Belated sympathy to the Moar families with the recent passing of Ether Moar. She and Stewart lived at the farm for a few years.
Don’t forget to attend the parade on July 1 and following the parade there will be a special ceremony in front of the Legion for re-dedicating of the flags that they lost due to water damage a few years ago. This ceremony is very special and is called a Drum Head. Be sure to attend and support the Legion.
Rain showers have been very spotty lately but it keeps the grass watered. I had a shock when I got my last water bill stating my consumption for the month of May had gone from 4 to 17 and the only difference in the usual use was 2 hours of watering an area about 10’ x 10’ on a corner of the lawn. That made the total go from $37 to $62. Needless to say I’ll not be doing much watering!
Have a great week and wear something red and white and wave your Canadian flag.
Are you impressed with the changing wording of our national anthem? I’m not and will continue to sing the original words. I know the great, great grandson of the man who wrote the original words. He must be wondering what happened.
