Well, it’s of­fi­cial, the Delia Gen­eral Store has closed its doors, now the peo­ple of Delia are with­out a store. A group of Delia ci­ti­zens are hold­ing a meet­ing in the near fu­ture to see if some pos­si­ble so­lu­tion can be thought of in this sit­u­a­tion. It will be in­ter­est­ing to see what de­vel­ops.

A bar­be­cue was held at the Delia Chris­tian Fel­low­ship Church on Sun­day to wel­come Pas­tor Noel Dwarika. his wife Me­lanie, and their chil­dren to our com­mu­nity. Vicki had ar­ranged to have a huge bouncy cas­tle and ob­sta­cle course in the church­yard, which was a big hit with the chil­dren in the area. It was good to see sev­eral mem­bers of the com­mu­nity come out to meet Pas­tor Noel and fam­ily.

A re­minder to all grad­u­at­ing stu­dents to get their schol­ar­ship ap­pli­ca­tions in as soon as pos­si­ble. The Ag. So­ci­ety has six schol­ar­ships avail­able rang­ing from $500. to $1000. for new and re­turn­ing post se­condary stu­dents. Please note that the ap­pli­ca­tion dead­line is now July 15, so don’t de­lay. The Elks and Royal Pur­ple also have two $1000 schol­ar­ships avail­able. Ap­pli­ca­tions for all schol­ar­ships are avail­able at the school.

Delia Gar­den­ers - check your fruit trees and shrubs for tent cater­pil­lars which have been mak­ing an early ap­pear- ance this year.

Here are the new sum­mer library hours, ef­fec­tive July 4, 2016: Mon­day 9:30 to 12:30, 1 to 4 p.m.; Tues­day 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Wed­nes­day 9:30 to 12:30, 1 p.m to 4 p.m.; Thurs­day 9:30 am to 12:30, 1 p.m to 4 p.m.; Fri­day 9:30 to 12:30, 1 p.m to 4 p.m. Library closed dates – June 30, July 1, Au­gust 1, Au­gust 29, Septem­ber 5, 2016.

A Lit­tle Ex­plor­ers pro­gram for chil­dren ages 0-6 years at the library will in­clude exploring sub­themes with in­ter­ac­tive story play. This pro­gram will be­gin July 7 un­til Au­gust 18 ev­ery Thurs­day from 11 am to 12 pm. This is a drop in pro­gram but the library would ap­pre­ci­ate knowing you and your child will at­tend so they are pre­pared.

Ev­ery Fri­day af­ter­noon from July 8- Au­gust 19 from 2-4 p.m., the Library will of­fer a free movie, a dif­fer­ent movie each week. Join them for some great view­ing ad­ven­tures.
