Grain bin and church catch fire in Craigmyle last week
Craigmyle and Delia firefighters had a busy week last week as they attended to two separate structure fires occurring on Thursday evening.
On the evening of Thursday, June 30 the Craigmyle and Delia Fire Departments responded to a call of a wooden grain bin south of Craigmyle that had caught fire during rains and thunderstorms in the area.
The fire was quickly contained by the department, but soon after they were finished, the departments received another call around 1:00 a.m. of a fire occurring on the west side of the Craigmyle Historical Church.
Serenity Wood of the Craigmyle Fire Department attended the scene and said the exterior electrical box caught fire and caused minor fire and smoke damage to the church.
The church will remain closed until another electric box is installed at the site.
