Congratulations to Dayne Collett and his Strathmore Venom Peewee B lacrosse team on winning Cities in Calgary. Winning Cities gave them a spot in Provincials in Lloydminster on July 7 to 10.

Casey, Pam, Dayne and Kali Collett all travelled to Lloydminster so Dayne could participate in Provincials.

The first thing on the agenda was Opening Ceremonies on July 7.

Then the team played two round robin games on Friday and two on Saturday. Venom were undefeated leaving them in first place. On Sunday, the team played in the gold medal game. Congratulations to the team on winning the 2016 Peewee B Provincial Championship!! What a truly amazing experience for everyone involved!!

On July 7 Jayna Hale competed in a trick riding competition at the Calgary Stampede where she completed her 5 tricks well enough to place first in the Junior division. This earned her a spot to perform with other division winners Friday night at the Agrium centre. She enjoyed great support from family and friends who showed up to cheer her on. Her next competition will be closer to home in Rockyford on July 23 in conjunction with their rodeo.

On Monday, July 11 over 20 Hussar and area women were honored to have Lynn Walker and her assistant Carolyn, from Wheatland FCSS visit them at the Sundowners Centre. They brought tea, lemondade and goodies for all to share. The afternoon was spent visiting, partaking in contests and enjoying the lunch, as well as learning a bit more about what FCSS can do for all of us.
