Rock­y­ford ready to rodeo

The Rock­y­ford Rodeo is soon ap­proach­ing, and cow­boys and cow­girls are itch­ing to get some more rodeo ac­tion af­ter the Cal­gary Stam­pede.

This year’s Rock­y­ford Rodeo will fea­ture many events all week­end long, in­clud­ing Chuck­wagon and Char­iot races start­ing on Fri­day at 6:30 p.m. Af­ter the show­down, a fam­ily dance will be held at 9:00 pm with free ad­mis­sion.

On Satur­day morn­ing there will be a free pan­cake break­fast from 7-10 pm, fol­lowed by the Grand Pa­rade at 10:00 am. Then it is off to the Rodeo at 12:30 pm which fea­tures steer wrestling, bar­rel rac­ing, sad­dle bronc and bull rid­ing.

Be­fore the Chuck­wag­ons at 6:30 pm on Satur­day, a BBQ beef sup­per will be held at 5:00 pm. A cow­boy ball will also be held Satur­day night fea­tur­ing the band TC & Com­pany at 9:00 pm.

There will also be camp­ing avail­able on site.

“This year we are keep­ing it the same as most years. We have an AstroJump set up for the kids, and a free pan­cake break­fast. Most of our com­peti­tors in the rodeo are from Al­berta, with a few from Saskatchewan. The Rock­y­ford Rodeo is back for an­other year on the week­end of July 22-24 at the Rock­y­ford Stam­pede Grounds.
