Fines levied for out of season fishing
They say a bad day’s fishing is better than a good day of work, but for three anglers caught fishing the Red Deer River out of season, they will have a few days work to pay for their fines. Van Bui Hanh, Kiu Lan Ly and Bao Ngoc Truong appeared in provincial court in Drumheller. Each faced charges including fishing out of season. The three seniors relied on the help on one of the accused’s son for translation. They admitted on April 22, they were fishing on the Red Deer River while the season was closed. For the admission, they were each fined $500. Judge Grieve ordered that their fishing equipment be returned.
