Delia Senior News
Can you believe July is almost over? I see the stores have their back to school sales on already. Where has the summer gone?
Construction is going on around Delia as water lines are being installed along First Avenue, there has been very little inconvenience caused by the construction so far. Hopefully that avenue may be paved again in the future as dust has been a problem for residents in that area.
The buzz around town is that the Delia General Store has been acquired through group investment and will reopen under the name Highland Market! It’s exciting to know our community will once again have important needs and convenience items available. I hear they are looking for management options. No firm date as to the opening.
I have had family members visiting over the last week, it is going to seem very quiet when everyone leaves, but the company and all the good help has sure been welcome. I am envious of the lucky people who have extended family living nearby.
Remember the Elks Bingo every Tuesday night at the Delia Community Center. Doors open at 7 P.M., Bingo starts at 8. Congratulations to Brenda Devaleriola who was the lucky jackpot winner on Tuesday, July 12. Be sure to come to play Bingo, you could be the next big winner!!!
Congratulations to Brian and Nancy Stiles who celebrate 26 years of wedded bliss on the 28th of July. Birthday greetings to Colin Andersen who will be a year older on the 29th of July. Have a great day!
