It is mid season for Drumheller’s Adult Softball League teams and things are looking up.

“So far the season has been going good, except for some cancel l ations because of rain,” says organizer Amy DeMille.

This year, the league tried out a new system for setting up games. It is called the “ABC” system.

“The “A” stands for your competitive teams, “C” being the non competitive teams and “B” are the teams that are willing to play both. This systems has caused more variety for the competitive teams because there isn’t many competitive teams in the league,” says DeMille. The next big event for the teams is the year end wind up tournament on August 19, 20, and 21 weekend. “All the teams in the league are invited to participate, we have 23 teams in total. The tournament is held at Newcastle Beach Ball Diamonds. There will be concession, beer gardens, and a home run derby that we do every year. There will also be a cash payout for the winning teams at the end of the tournament ,” says DeMille.
