Dragons sign Sask D-man Gage Misskey

The Drumheller Dragons an­nounced Friday, July 29 the sign­ing of Gage Misskey, a 1998-born native of Melfort, SK, for the up­com­ing 2016-17 sea­son.

The 5’9”, 170-lb de­fense­man comes to the Dragons from the Swift Cur­rent Midget AAA Le­gion­naires of the SMHL, where he served as cap­tain in his fi­nal year, tal­ly­ing 3 goals and 24 as­sists in 44 games.

I am ex­cited about com­mit­ting to and play­ing for the dragons this year and for Coach Cur­ran and Coach Olsen. I’ve heard lots of good things about Drumheller and the Dragons and I feel like I will fit right in on this team.”

“Gage is a very strong and mo­bile de­fense­man,” said Dragons Head Coach and GM, Brian Cur­ran. “Al­though he isn’t the big­gest, he plays like he is 6’5” and has no fear.”

Misskey is look­ing for­ward to the up­com­ing sea­son in Drumheller.

“I am ex­cited about com­mit­ting to and play­ing for the Dragons this year and for Coach Cur­ran and Coach Olsen,” said Misskey. “I’ve heard lots of good things about Drumheller and the Dragons and I feel like I will fit right in on this team.”

Cur­ran added about Misskey, “he has good hockey sense and I look for­ward to help­ing him with his goals.”

Dragons fans can catch Misskey in ac­tion in the Dragons first home ex­hi­bi­tion game on Septem­ber 9. The Dragons reg­u­lar sea­son home opener is on Septem­ber 23, and will be pre­ceded by the an­nual Dragons Tail­gate Party.

The Dragons have signed 16-year-old Gage Misskey for the up­com­ing sea­son. The cap­tain of his midget team, Misskey scored 3 goals and 24 as­sists in his fi­nal year of midget hockey.
